How to Use BiiB App For Multilingual Customer Support

We pride ourselves on developing one of the most linguistically versatile messaging apps. And one of the most compelling features of BiiB is that it removes the need for both parties to install the app in order to communicate.  Only one side is required to install it, which is you, while your customer side can use their web browser. Please watch the first demo in the video tutorial below.

To contact you, your customer can either scan your BiiB Web QR code or you can send them your BiiB Web link. Either way, they shall open their web browser to communicate with you. Below is an example of a BiiB Web QR code and link for the ABC Hotel.

BiiB Web QR Code and Link

The QR code above actually contains the link that is shown at the bottom of the screen. The link format is based on your username. For the example above, the link is https://biib.me/web/abchotel where “abchotel” is the username.

Where to Find Your BiiB Web QR Code and Link

To find your Beep Web QR code and link on the app, tap on the menu in the top right corner, and select the QR code menu item. Then, select the tab on the right side. There, you can see your BiiB Web QR code and a link below it. To download this QR code, you can take a screenshot on your mobile phone, or you can copy the link.

If you copied the link, the next step is to go to a website that can generate a QR code for you. We recommend using QR Monkey. On the website, you simply need to generate a QR code based on the link you copied and download the square image of the code.

Display Your QR Code For Customers to Scan

You should print out your BiiB Web QR code and place it somewhere convenient for your customers to scan via their phone. You can display it using a tabletop stand, as shown below. When your customer scanned the QR code, they will be redirected to their mobile web browser where they can communicate with you in their own language.

Send Your Customers Your BiiB Web Link

Another easy way is to just send your BiiB Web link to your customers. You may send via email, SMS, WhatsApp, LINE, KakaoTalk, Facebook Messenger, or via other media. You can also post it on your social media channels.

Your web link format is https://biib.me/web/username, such as https://biib.me/web/abchotel where “abchotel” is the username.

How to Use The BiiB Web App

The demo video below provides a quick guide on how to use the BiiB web app on a mobile web browser (also works on a PC browser). We highly recommend the use of the Chrome browser.

When your customer accesses the web app link, the first step is to allow push notifications to be sent to their phone via their browser. This enables them to receive alerts when you send them messages, just like in a typical messaging app. Then, they need to select their preferred language.

Your customers do not need to enter their email, phone number, or even a username. A random unique username is given to them.

Once done, they can immediately communicate with you via text or voice. If they choose to use voice, their speech will be converted to text that they can edit for clarity prior to delivery. They can also send you photos and videos.

Do note that due to Apple’s iOS limitation, the speech-to-text and notification features don’t work on iOS devices like iPhones. We have also experienced issues with the web app on older iOS such as version 14.6. We highly suggest that you use the latest iOS version with the latest Chrome browser when you are using our web app.

Using BiiB With Multiple Staff Members

If you have a few employees managing customer support, the recommended way is to have a single dedicated mobile phone for business use.

However, you may decide to install the BiiB app on multiple phones and choose to share the same username with all staff members. Meaning each of them installs the BiiB app on their phone using the same username. But this method would mean only one staff member would receive notifications, even though they are not working at that time.

The other method is to use a separate BiiB Web QR code and link for each staff. This means each member should install the app with their own unique username. This is best used when certain people are in charge of certain clients, akin to having your team member sharing their phone number with their clients.

Ultimately, the best method to choose highly depends on the nature of your business. Meanwhile, we shall also look for better ways to support a team when using our BiiB app.

Will There Be a Complete Web Version for PC Use?

Yes, we are continuously improving the BiiB platform, and it is in our plan to provide an end-to-end web version of BiiB where you and your customer can both use a web browser to communicate. We hope to roll out this feature soon.
