Running a tour for visitors from around the world can be challenging when you don’t speak their language. Misunderstandings can easily happen, and important information can get lost in translation. The BiiB multilingual messaging app changes that when we released our hands-free feature that allows tour guides to speak while the tour participants can just listen in, with their language, ala live audio guide. This empowers you with the ability to communicate with everyone in your group instantly, no matter what language they speak. Most of all, it takes less than a minute to set up.
What is BiiB App?
BiiB is a real-time multilingual messaging tool designed for tour guides, businesses, and event hosts who need to communicate across language barriers. This app automatically translates every message you send into each participant’s preferred language, and vice versa. Think of it like WhatsApp, except each message is translated into the respective user’s language. You actually don’t even know you’re chatting in a foreign language. It supports a multitude of languages such as English, Simplified/Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, Spanish, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Hindi, Thai, Russian, Burmese, Khmer, Malay, Bengali, and Mongolian. More languages are always being added.
You can download this app on Google Play Store or Apple App Store for free with no ads whatsoever.
How to Use BiiB App to Run a Multilingual Tour
Using BiiB during a tour is as simple as starting a group chat. You begin by creating a group chat named after your tour. To do that, on the chat listing screen on BiiB, tap on the top right menu icon, a.k.a kebab menu or vertical ellipsis menu. Then, select the “Create Group” option, as shown below.
Next, you should give a name to your group and add a photo. After that, you may add your tour members to the group. Do note that each member needs to install and sign up for the app. But rest assured, no email or phone number is required. They only need to specify a username.
As soon as they connect, each person selects their preferred language, and from that moment, everything you say or type is instantly translated for them. Whether you are giving directions, sharing historical facts about a landmark, or telling a story, BiiB ensures that everyone receives the message in a way they understand. Tourists can also respond in their own language, and you’ll see it translated back into yours in real time.
Live Audio Guide Mode
The BiiB app comes with a hands-free feature that empowers you to simply speak to the app, and tour members simply listen in. This is made possible by the voice-to-text function and text-to-voice feature. So, instead of typing, you talk, and instead of reading, your travelers listen in their respective languages. This makes the whole touring experience even more interactive, allowing your words to be heard as well as read, which keeps everyone engaged even in a busy setting.
TL;DR
With the BiiB app, running a multilingual tour is no longer a logistical nightmare. The short video below explains it all!
In less than a minute, you can create a tour chat group where everyone’s language is auto-translated into another person’s language, no matter what language they speak. Instead of worrying about translations or carrying around printed scripts, you can focus on delivering a memorable experience for your guests by letting technology handle the language barrier for you.
